Oh my, a contest!

TASK
Familiarize yourselves with Royale, a title charachter of my lil' circle of OCs and main charachter of the new comic

Well he could certainly use a pretty lil' lady at his side what with the stopping Cadeyrn from ruining his family's empire issue! So here is your task: to design a lovely Outlands mare to become Royale's mate.

BACKSTORY
It is traditional for the young heir to Clearview Terrace to make a journey into the Outlands, the purpose being so that a new ruler will have knowledge of the outside world and be a wiser leader. Typically, the Quest is made around age three or four and the heir is accompanied by a few others. Lord Cadeyrn, however, used the traditional Quest as an excuse to kick Royale out of Clearview Terrace as a yearling -while still abiding by Terrace culture and law. Royale spent three years wandering lost in the desert, eventually deciding that living alone in the Outlands was better than taking on the responsibility of ruling a crumbling empire back home. He meets his true love at age four, shortly before where Page 1 of the comic commences.

RULES

Anyone can enter, and you may enter twice at the most

Medium: Anything goes- traditional, digital, painted model, photomanip... you name it!

I would STRONGLY prefer if you did not use linearts. Using YOUR OWN linearts is fine. This is a contests for design, after all, and not artistic shading or anatomy skill. However, if you feel that not being able to use a lineart will prevent you from being able to convey her design accurately, you may use any lineart in my gallery.

NO traced artwork, copies of the designs of others, manipulation of non-stock photography, or basically anything else against dA rules.

She must be equine. No unicorns, as in my world unicorns are a rare single family. They also meet in the desert so take that into account. Pegasus is OK.

If you're writing the optional backstory, keep in mind that there are NO humans in Clearview Terrace and although Royale may or may not be heir to the Terrace herd, he lives in the desert away from the herd.

THINGS THAT WILL BRIBE ME
COLOR! I want lots of color in her design, the more the merrier. I love blues and purples, and of course, gold. XD Remember, though, that she is a comic charachter that I will have to draw a lot so don't make her design crazy-complicated.

A backstory and personality will give you big bonus points with me, although they're not nessicary.

My favourite breeds are Arabians/ other Oriental breeds, American Saddlebreds, and Andalusians.
